What an amazing opportunity to spread the word about the Need 4 Narcan to our Educational Institutions. We felt honored to have been invited and to have been able to set up an Exhibitors table. It was an uplifting feeling to hear our School Nurses chatting about how their schools had Narcan on the premises or were in the process of getting it.

Only one District seemed unreceptive and truly not interested in debating their reasons. Ugh! But I did get the Superintendent’s name so I will certainly attempt to re-open the conversation……

We found it most interesting that numerous schools were receiving their doses of Narcan from the County in which the school was located. We love these collaborative efforts, but also want to address the fact that OREGON is Dead Last in offering Mental Health Services. Wouldn’t it be more effective cost wise to order the initial doses from Emergent BioSolutions- the manufacturers of Narcan? The first two boxes are FREE to our High Schools. If we inquire about getting our initial order of Narcan for free wouldn’t it leave more funds within our school systems to address the needs of our students that are suffering from Mental Health Issues? Just a suggestion.
