As Parents.. Jennifer & Jon Took A Positive Approach to their Pain….

April 3, 2022— It would have been Cal Epstein’s 20th birthday. Cal is Jennifer and Jon Epstein’s son that died from Fentanyl Poisoning on December 18th of 2020. As parents that have lost a child to an overdose or poisoning, our grief is immeasurable…

As time passes, a huge percentage of us focus on the statistics of the number of losses. Some set up events and rallies stating the number of deaths and showing pics of their loved ones that are no longer here. Figuring out what is best for your unending cycle of grief is personal and okay. In the Addiction arena —-we all know last year,2021, was the worst year with over 100,306 deaths from Drugs in the U.S!!

Jennifer & Jon Epstein, from a Song for Charlie, have swung the pendulum into positive motion. As parents, they have decided to honor and remember the amazing things about their son Cal.

On April 3, of this year, they concentrated on the loving and giving memory of Cal… a day of remembrance with a POSITIVE SWING TO IT. They asked each of us to give back and do something kind and loving in remembrance of Cal for his birthday. Cards of Kindness, with Dollars inside, were distributed Nationwide. It touched my heart. It made me stop and take note that day of how to handle my grief. Now I want to suggest this to others.

It made me take the time to go see my sister that has suffered from Addiction for over 40 years. On January 13, of this year we used NARCAN to bring her back to life. I thank God she is still here. How have you spent your day today? Tell me about your act of kindness. https://www.songforcharlie.org/
